Upgraded in 2019 with a focused mandate on skin disorders, NRIUMSD has emerged as a national leader in integrative research and patient care. Our work spans preclinical and clinical research, drug standardization, and exploration of fundamental Unani principles, all aimed at strengthening the scientific foundation of this time-tested system of medicine.
Under the visionary leadership at Ministry of Ayush and DG CCRUM, we envision NRIUMSD as an excellent institution that not only generates high-quality research but also nurtures future leaders in Unani medicine. Our postgraduate programmes, conducted in affiliation with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, reflect our commitment to academic excellence and capacity building.
The Institute has gained recognition for its pioneering contributions, particularly in the management of skin disorders such as vitiligo, psoriasis, chronic diseases and continues to expand its horizons through collaborations with leading institutions including NIPER, ICMR–National Institute of Nutrition, IICT and AIIMS. These partnerships enable us to foster innovation, interdisciplinary research, and global engagement.
At the heart of our mission lies patient care. Dedicated OPD services, and 85-bedded hospital delivers comprehensive and holistic healthcare through specialized services across a wide spectrum of diseases, integrating Unani therapeutics with modern diagnostics. Our Ilāj bi’l Tadbīr (Regimenal Therapy) unit exemplifies this integration, offering time-tested therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs.
Guided by inclusivity and social responsibility, we extend our services to underserved communities through mobile healthcare initiatives, ensuring that the benefits of Unani medicine reach those who need them most. The NABH and NABL accreditation along with the implementation of the e-office, Ayush Hospital Management Information System (A-HMIS) further enhances transparency, efficiency, and quality in healthcare delivery.
